As the fifth and final ‘tutorial’ works for the RPP module, the following job advertisement criteria are for a project detailed in three coursework submissions.
Because the staff are collaborating, their responsibilities intertwine. With the assumption that the research project’s aim is ‘create a working prototype’ excluding any market distribution-specific operations, the project would involve:
1. Maintaining organisational resources (dialect descriptions, system models etc.)
2. Research of mechanisms for integration
3. Software development
4. Maintenance of hardware and software platforms for system emulation
5. Testing
6. Creating documentation and reports

 

Job 1 (6,2,1)
Literature + Documentation Analyst
Do you want to work with a research team at Google?
40-hour weeks – Weekly pay – 30k per annum (variable shifts)
Expected position duration: 3 – 4 months (may be extended)
Required For:
Assessing and compiling information related to linguistics, dialects and the development of computing systems. The employee is required to deliver information to the team as needed.
Day to day activities are compiling and maintaining information on specific dialects and tracking updates to Google Android frameworks. The project manager will set various tasks similar to those described here.
This position should also involve:
• Documentation authoring
• Writing reports on the project’s operations
• Maintaining software-based dictionaries for various dialects
• Ongoing research of dialects and computing platforms
• Assessing organisational documentation for consistency
• Assisting team members with research
Being bilingual is advantageous. Nevertheless, the most desired candidates are English, Arabic, German and/or Mandarin speakers.
Includes a gym membership and a company car.
Previous Experience:
1+ years of fulfilling a book-keeping or research analyst position is desirable.
100,000+ words of document authoring with showable examples.
Degree or diploma in journalism or other research-focused area is desired but replaceable by suitable previous work.

Android App Developer
Do you want to be on a research team at Google?
40-hour weeks – Monthly pay – 40k per annum (variable shifts)
Expected position duration: 3 – 4 months (may be extended)
Required For:
An experienced developer is required for researching the development of new implementations for the Android virtual keyboard framework. The employee must liaise with management and the team as a consultant and verifier.
The employee is required to assist a research team in producing a prototype and plan for new Google products. The main area of work is in facilitating new dialect support into the predictive-text mechanism of Android operating systems.
This role will also involve:
• Establishing the requirements of the new product in relation to the expectations of various dialects.
• Configuring and maintain the research development environment.
• Assisting with documentation authoring of dictionary databases.
• Producing reports on operations.
• Management of IT service platforms and API accounts.
• Researching and testing computing mechanisms.
• Designing and prototyping mobile application software.
Being bilingual is advantageous.
Previous Experience:
Software-design concept proficiency
1+ successful programming projects with exhibits
1+ years of configuring and troubleshooting software and hardware in a development context
Additional Requirements and Qualities:

Expected position duration: 3 – 4 months (may be extended)
Required For:
A technical-minded researcher is wanted for assistance with creating requirements and solutions for language-based software.
The employee must provide usability guidelines for software keyboard interfaces with consideration for inferred and documented desires of mobile keyboard users using various dialects.
General work will involve researching, establishing, creating and verifying requirements relative to your ongoing research of standards and qualities required for Google Android’s expanded predictive-text product.
The role will involve:
• Designing workflows and mapping diagrams for specific dialects.
• Researching the dynamics of various dialects in relation to applicable source languages.
• Composing dictionaries for various dialects.
• Authoring reports and documentation.
• Qualitative software testing.
Being bilingual is advantageous. Nevertheless, the most desired candidates are English, Arabic, German and/or Mandarin speakers.

Previous Experience:
